On the 24th of March 2012 at Knutsford Little Theatre, we put on our first ever performance as a group.
Written by Nick and Tracey Abbott, "I Have A Dream" is the tale of Sophie and Rachel, 2 school girls with the dream of being on the stage. Whilst chores and homework need to be done, they find themselves distracted after some seriously "Bad Guys" steal their bag. When they try to get their stuff back, they find their way into the back of a theatre; will they get caught as they sneak around the theatre? Confusion, and a very stressed Stage Manager, means that they are mixed up with an Abba tribute show.
But will they get away with taking the lead roles?
Or more importantly, will anyone ever walk Fido?
A lot of effort on everyones part led to a fantastic performance on the night, even though the stage door tried to get the better of us! The kids managed to get a near full house clapping along to some of Abba's classics, like Mamma Mia! and Thank You For The Music.
With brilliant dancing choreographed by Elaine Oakley & Sue Primrose, sparkling costumes from Lesley Reed and team, dramatic coaching from everybody led by Lilian Atkinson, and technical effects from Ben Evans-Clarke, the show was incredible.
A line from the show itself summed up this performance perfectly: "This is great, everyone working together to put on a show" and it was exactly that, everybody did their bit, all together to put on a spectactular performance.
